The popular V-sync technology, AMD’s FreeSync, often found in computer monitors has begun to reach TV’s in 2019 and into 2020. This technology enables a variable refresh rate and means the monitor can actively adjust the frame rate, which results in a reduction of screen tearing and thus creating smoother gameplay.
LG and Sony are the first manufacturers to offer FreeSync functionality in select models in 2019 and current 2020 lineup. This short guide will list all the TV’s that currently support FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) functionality.
With the rise of HDMI 2.1, TV’s that support this will also support VRR and frame rates surpassing 60Hz at 4K. Here is our article that covers TVs which support HDMI 2.1.
Without further ado, here is our (updated) list of TV’s currently for sale that have FreeSync (VRR) technology built in. If there is a monitor that currently isn’t listed in this table but does have FreeSync, please let us know by sending us a message and we will get it added!
